Sample answer 1:
I have just returned from a 2-week holiday with my husband Brendan in Northern Italy. We stayed most of the time in a beautiful village called Cesiomaggiore, in the foothills of the Dolomite Mountains. Then we spent the last few nights in a very picturesque and historic town called Belluno.
We travelled to Italy by air, although we had considered driving there from the UK before deciding against it. We flew from London Gatwick to Venice, then once we got to Venice airport, we hired a car so that we could drive into the mountains. We got a bit lost on the way as the roads were very unfamiliar.
We had such a relaxing time on our holiday. Some Italian friends of ours live in the village where we stayed, and they were having a birthday party on the third night of our holiday, so we enjoyed some wonderful Italian food and company. It was great to meet my friend Laura's Italian friends, many of whom live in the nearby town of Feltre.
The main activities we enjoyed on holiday were walking and swimming. We went hiking in the mountains nearly every day, which was very good for our fitness, and spent some lovely evenings in restaurants eating Italian food, which is one of my favourite cuisines.
I really enjoyed this holiday, possibly even more so because I had been working so hard and moving house just before we went away. I loved the fresh air and the scenery, and of course the food. One of my favourite things to do on the holiday was go swimming in one of the many lakes in the area. The water is so fresh and clean, and the temperature is just refreshing - not too hot and not too cold. I will certainly be going back there another year, as I think it's one of my favourite parts of the world.

Today I’m going to share with you a short vacation that left me a profound impression. It was a trip to the hometown of one of my classmates at university At the end of the second semester, our group at the university was invited to pay a 5-day visit to the house of one of the group members, which is located in An Giang province. We had 5 people
in total and bought coach tickets to reach our destination.
On arriving at the countryside, which is quite secluded from the hustle and bustle of the city life, we were greatly impressed by the picturesque landscapes there. The atmosphere was refreshing and the air is unpolluted unlike in the city where many of us were living in. My friend acted as a tour guide as he was well accustomed to the local lifestyles and tourist attractions there. We took the motorbikes to tour the city land stopped at some street vendors to taste the local cuisine, which I personally found tasty and delicate. After doing the sights, we gathered in the evening for some small games and gossip about our study and our future career path.
All in all, such a short vacation still fills me with great delight each time I recall it. Hope that we could make another vacation someday before Lunar New Year.
